The 2012 Ottawa Physio Race is all set to go on Sunday, April 22nd along the scenic Rideau Canal. The support from local runners and businesses last year made it a great success. We want to break records again this year. Come out and bring a friend. Run or walk along the beautiful canal and enjoy the sites and the sounds.
We will be donating 50% our funds to the In Community, a local group who provides mobility aids to those in need. 35% will be donated to the successful University of Ottawa PhD scholarship winner and the remaining funds will help support local physiotherapy education events in Ottawa.
The Eastern Ontario District is overwhelmed with the support for the Ottawa Physio Race. With another record-breaking year of 477 registrants, 50 volunteers and 10 sponsors, the Ottawa Physio Race raised $ 13545.94. Generous donations will be made to The In Community, the Physiotherapy Foundation of Canada and the University of Ottawa’s PhD in Rehabilitation Science Program.
The recent press release from the In Community announced the closure of the SNEES program. The 2011 Physio Race was able to donate 50% of its proceed to this well deserving local charity. The money donated helped keep the doors of the SNEES program open for an extra 3 months and serve 100 customers in the Ottawa community.
